Compact voltage regulator for all alternators with 6Volt on-board voltage.
The power supply of older vehicles with 6Volt voltage is often still designed as a so-called self-regulating system. Only the resistance of the bulbs prevents an overvoltage and thus a burning through of the bulbs. Such a simple electrical system unfortunately always bears the danger that the defect of one bulb will also destroy all other bulbs. In addition, the light output is anything but optimal, at low speeds usually even very weak. The BGM Pro 6Volt regulator offers the perfect solution here!
So with its help the original board net can be wonderfully updated and strongly improved. As a hint, we would like to mention the use of LED technology in the tail light and turn signal area to get valuable power for the driving light! Furthermore, all available light coils of the original generator can be connected in series with the help of the regulator to maximize the light output. The regulator supplies alternating current and optionally also direct current. This makes it not only the perfect and reliable replacement for all conventional voltage regulators, it also allows a modern expansion of the existing on-board power supply.
AC - AC alternating current: Input and output for the unregulated alternating current of the ignition base plate and the regulated current for the wiring harness.
The connection to the existing wiring harness is very simple. For complete AC systems, simply connect the regulated AC current to the cables for the electrical consumers. For systems that are operated with AC and DC, a distinction only has to be made between AC and DC and the cables must be wired accordingly.
- SENSE: The AC input and output must be bridged. The output voltage is compared with a reference via the sense line (bridge). This way the voltage remains constant even if the load fluctuates.
- DC Direct current: Output with direct current for charging the battery. However, if the ignition system is powerful enough, consumers can also be connected directly. For example: Satnav systems, water pumps, tachometers, speedometers and all other imaginable toys.
- Earth - Ground: Ground connection to the frame, can be easily taken over from the old controller. Otherwise output ground to frame and best still to the housing of the controller.
A few connection examples are provided under the documents on the right.
