Iemand ervaring met ATC-1000

Ik kwam deze bullitcam tegen, die opneemt op een interne memorycard.
Heel klein handig apparaatje, met natuurlijk wel wat nadelenten opzichte van een echte bullit cam.
Kwaliteit is nl. minder, minder fps (15), en je kan alleen opnemen op de memory card.

Maar de prijs is ook bijna niks vergeleken met een echte bullit cam. (Kost iets van 100 euro, en dan heb je ook geen externe recorder nodig)

Iemand toevallig ervaring mee ? Iemand die een voorbeeld filmpje heeft ?

Ik ken het merk OregonScientific wel, van een webcam die wij er ooit van hadden en dat beeld was goed.

15fps wordt ook veel gebruikt in webcam+microfoonprogs zoals Moviemaker2 (prog standaard aanwezig in ME en XP dus bijna iedereen heeft het); compromis, juist redelijk beeld bij zuinig geheugengebruik, filmpje inclusief geluid ruim minder dan 1MB per minuut maar zeer korte/snelle bewegingen kunnen verloren gaan of iets schokkerig worden.

Veel mensen hebben niet door dat het progje MovieMaker zoveel RAM vreet dat een filmpje OPNEMEN daarmee alleen behoorlijk lukt als alle overbodige progs (internet, firewall, virus-scanner en wat er maar gemist kan worden, kijk onder 1x Contr_Alt_Del) worden UITGESCHAKELD, anders de gekste vervormingen/vertragingen.
Een filmpje op deze manier gemaakt zal je waarschijnlijk een tamelijke indruk geven van de te verwachten resultaten.

Ik heb een zo opgenomen test-bestandje met gitaar (vingerbewegingen) nog op schijf staan maar daarnet bij proberen viel plotseling het geluid weg en ik weet niet of het bestandje corrupt is of dat het aan iets in mijn compu ligt. Kamer-opname, dus natuurlijk slecht licht.
Ik parkeer het hier ff voor max 7 dagen max 25 downloads op Yousendit site, bekijk maar even of het nog goed werkt (en stel je niet te veel voor van mijn gitaartechniek). Het is maar een ruim minuutje en zowat 1MB.

Werken? Laat ik het mooi niet (meer) merken ...; 45 jaar vanaf mijn 16e en zeer intensief met veel baan-wisselingen was mooi, maar gepensioneerd-zijn bevalt me echt al enige jaren uitstekend. Kan ik lekker veel op sommige Forums dalven en rondkarren met mijn diesel-brommobiel om dikke motorfietsen gemakkelijk te bekijken.

Gitaar is ook alleen maar hobby, mezelf ooit een beetje aangeleerd toen ik op mijn 19e in een gitarenwinkel werkte en daar een lesgitaartje mocht lenen.

Ik kom tamelijk veel in muzikanten-trefcafé met "open podium" Café-Chantant "Classic" op de Couberg in Valkenburg-aan-deGeul, zowat halverwege de steile helling, tegenover de opgang naar parkeerterrein en Aquariumgrot bij het grote oude kerkhof. Dat is alleen geopend op vrijdag en zaterdag na 21:00 en zondags tussen 15:00 en 20:00. Soms mag ik daar helpen een zanger(es) te begeleiden.

Licht-kwaliteit is buiten altijd beter dan binnenshuis, tenzij je bijzondere lampen gebruikt.

Ik denk dat het met die camera geen probleem zal zijn of hooguit soms 's-nachts. De techniek zal best lijken op die van webcams en die zijn de laatste jaren steeds ijselijk veel beter geworden.

Oregon Scientific ATC-1000 Helmet Camera

ATC-1000 Helmet Camera from Oregon ScientificFirst round here we go again. We have to start somewhere right? The ATC-1000 from Oregon Scientific is a entry-level helmet camera that is 100% solid state, totally integrated, and no wires. These are great features, but the stats that matter are frame rate, resolution, and storage. That would 15fps, 640×480, and 32mb (upgradeable to 1GB via SD). Oregon Scientific has a flashy marketing site for the ATC-1000 Helmet Camera which would lead one to believe it’s designed for all things extreme. On the other side of the marketing house, the corporate site has it listed under the “Youth” category, which is really what this product is currently spec’d for. The digitalgypsy VFX blog purchased one and lays it out pretty straight - not quite ready for real extreme sports. Engadget received a tip from an Oregon Scientific rep that a future revision will be running at 30fps, which would be great but NTSC 720 x 480 would be nice as well. No word on the compression codec or overall video fidelity (aka the LCD or CMOS censor used to capture). HCC.com’s recommendation = Great for kids, leave it at home on the big day. It’s important to note that this is a great effort from large corporations to fill a dire need in the niche market of helmet cameras and wearable video. Keep up the good work!

ATC-1000 Review

Last week I bought another bullet camera. This one is ideally suited for the types of extreme sports that I do throughout the year. It's a bit different from the one I use for my road trips. Read on to find out what I think of the ATC-1000 from Oregon Scientific.

It boasts the following features:

-Wireless, compact design
- TV cable for instant replay on the big screen and USB for easy uploads
- Three resolutions at 15 fps: 640 x 480 (default), 320 x 240 or 160 x 120
- SD card expansion up to 1GB – standard memory is 32MB
- 35mm in diameter and 140mm in length.


Currently when playing paintball or driving my car, I use a bullet camera that is very small that has 480 lines of resolution. It records remotely onto a mini DVD-R disc. The pluses of my current setup include DVD resolution and 30fps shooting. The minus is the bundle of wires all over the place to hook the bullet camera up to my recording rig! I looked around, and found this other camera setup (the ATC-1000), and thought I'd give it a try. I assumed that 15fps would be ok for recording extreme sports, but unfortunately it's not as nice as I hoped it would be. 15fps just doesn't cut it for persistence of vision. 24fps would be ideal.

I like detail in my footage, and with the ATC-1000, I don't get that. The images that I do get, even in 640x480, don't come out as cleanly as shooting with my smaller, wired, bullet camera. This is due to the limitations and target audience of the ATC-1000. It's classified in the Youth Electronics in Oregon Scientifics' catalog, and it's priced appropriately. I bought it for $126 total with shipping, while my 'professional' grade bullet camera was $225 just for the head!

I'll be taking the ATC-1000 out to the field next month, to give it an actual workout and see exactly where it will fail. The great plus of the ATC-1000 is the onboard memory and the ability to record onto a SD card! Up to 1GB is possible. My wish list for an Adult Electronics version would be at least 24/30fps (interlaced or progressive) at 640x480, a better and larger CCD, stereo recording, and ability to use any SD card size (1GB, 2GB, and up). It probably won't meet the $120 pricepoint, but if it's all enclosed and the same size, I'm sure there would be more adult buyers. The other option that I have is the Samsung SCX105L, which is just a MPEG4 camcorder that comes with a bullet camera!
